Driven by AI, Machine Learning, IoT, sensors, Logistics is going through major advancements. A connected, more efficient and sustainable logistics is the next frontier. 

We are working towards optimal utilization of resources available by implementing state-of-the-art algorithms and ML & AI techniques.

India handles 4.6 billion tonnes of goods each year and is expected to grow to ~5 fold by 2050. We can reduce freight transport energy consumption by 50% by efficient utilisation of resources and adding fuel-efficient vehicles between 2020 and 2050.

Increasing the share of rail transport, optimising truck use, and adding fuel-efficient vehicles we can avoid emission of 10.3 gigatonnes of CO₂, 509 kilo tonnes of PM and 14.7 million tonnes of NOₓ by 2050.

About us

We, at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Madras, are working towards making logistics operations more efficient and sustainable by using state-of-the-art algorithms and technologies.

Having built route optimizing, vehicle allocation, ride/space sharing, orienteering algorithms for the last 4 years, we have integrated all into a SaaS software service. We look to improve the efficiency of our algorithms and add a lot more features in the coming month.
